On December 5, 2023, Rockstar Games released the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. The focus is on Lucia, the first female main character in the series, who forms a Bonnie & Clyde-style criminal duo with her partner Jason. The game is set in the fictional state of Leonida, a parody of Florida - including Vice City as the central location.
The trailer shows typical GTA satire: social media excesses, chaotic beach scenes, alligators in supermarkets and absurd news reports - a clear allusion to “Florida Man” memes. The trailer is accompanied by the music Love Is a Long Road by Tom Petty.
With over 93 million views in 24 hours, the trailer set a record and created enormous expectations worldwide. The release of GTA VI was initially announced for 2025, but was then scheduled for May 26, 2026.

On May 6, 2025, Rockstar Games released the second official trailer for GTA VI, continuing the story of Lucia and Jason: After Lucia's release from prison, the criminal duo delves deeper into the chaos of Leonida - with new locations such as the Leonida Keys, Ambrosia and Grassrivers.
The trailer once again delivers socially critical satire, spectacular action and a deep insight into the huge, detailed game world. The whole thing is accompanied by the song Hot Together by the Pointer Sisters and other songs from the 80s.
With over one hundred million views, this trailer also set new standards and confirms the huge interest in the release announced for May 26, 2026.
